Wedding PA Hire — Common Questions

Will the sound be loud enough for an outdoor ceremony?

Yes. Outdoor sound disperses, so it needs more power and careful speaker placement than the same setup indoors — we spec for that, so vows and readings carry clearly even with a bit of breeze or background noise.

Can you work with our band or DJ?

Absolutely, and it's common. We'll talk to them before the day about what they're bringing and what they need from us, so the changeover from speeches to live music to DJ is smooth and nobody's scrambling for a cable.

Do you provide microphones for the speeches?

Yes — wireless handheld and lapel mics are part of every wedding package. Lapel mics suit nervous speakers who'd rather keep their hands free; handhelds are easy to pass down a top table.

Can we play our own playlist?

Yes. Connect a phone or laptop and play your own music throughout the day — aisle, drinks, dinner — and we'll help manage the handover to any live music in the evening.

What happens if it rains?

For outdoor and marquee weddings we plan for weather from the start — keeping electrics protected and equipment under cover. If there's a wet-weather backup plan for the venue, we work to it.

Do you coordinate with our venue?

Yes. We check access, power and setup timings with the venue ahead of the day, which matters for places with strict load-in windows or sound limits.

How long do you stay?

With dry hire we deliver, set up and collect. With managed hire an engineer stays for the day — typically through to the end of the evening, including late pack-down. We'll agree the exact hours in your quote.

What if the ceremony and reception are in different places?

That's fine and fairly common — we'll plan the kit and timings around both locations. Tell us the addresses and the schedule and we'll build it into the quote.

How far in advance should we book?

As early as you can — wedding-season weekends book up. Once you have a date and venue, get in touch and we'll check availability and hold it for you.
