There are really three things that determine how quickly we can turn a job around.
Equipment availability
PA hire companies run on stock. If the kit you need is already out on another job when you enquire, you either wait or make do with what’s available. The more standard your requirements, the more likely something suitable is free. Unusual or highly specialised setups are harder to fulfil at short notice.
How complex the job is
A single speaker and a microphone for a small meeting is a simple job. We can confirm, prep and deliver that quickly. A full conference rig with multiple zones, wireless mics, a mixing desk and an engineer needs more lead time to plan properly. Not impossible at short notice, but the more complex the job, the earlier you need to be in touch.
Logistics and access
We’re based in Hanwell, West London. For events nearby we can move quickly. For events further across London or outside the city, we need enough time to plan the route, arrange access and confirm delivery windows with the venue. This is worth sorting on the first call.

Same-day and next-day hire can happen when equipment is available and the setup is simple. It’s not something we can guarantee, but it’s worth calling to ask rather than assuming it’s not possible.
What to have ready when you call
The faster you can give us the information we need, the faster we can confirm whether we can help. When you get in touch, try to have the following ready.
- The date and start time of the event
- The venue name and address
- Roughly how many people are attending
- Whether the event is indoors or outdoors
- What you need the PA for (speeches, music, presentations)
- Whether you need an engineer on site or are happy to self-manage
- What time you have access to the venue for setup
You don’t need to know every technical detail. That’s our job. But the basics above let us give you a quick and accurate answer on whether we can do it and what it’ll cost.
One thing people forget: venue access time. Even if we can turn the job around quickly, we still need to get in, set up and sound check before your guests arrive. Make sure you know when the venue is available and tell us that upfront.
Is last-minute hire more expensive?
Not with us. We don’t apply a panic premium for short notice bookings. The price is based on what the job involves, not how much notice you gave us. If anything, the main risk of leaving it late is not that it costs more but that the specific kit you want might not be available and you end up with a compromise.
What if we can’t help?
We’ll tell you straight away. We won’t string you along if the answer is no. And if we can’t fulfil the job ourselves we’ll do our best to point you in the right direction.
But in our experience, most last-minute enquiries in London can be handled. We’ve been doing this for over ten years and we’re used to working at pace when we need to. The worst outcome is that you call and we say we can’t do it. The best outcome is that your event has great sound and nobody knows it was sorted in a week.
